Art and Experience: Two films by Iranian directors will be competing in the Warsaw International Film Festival, which will be held from October 13 to 22.
“Boarding Pass”, a film by Mehdi Rahmani, will have its world premiere in the official competition of the festival, the organizers have announced.
Animation “Run, Rustam, Run” by Hossein Molayemi has been selected for the short film competition.
“Boarding Pass” is about body packers who swallow pre-packaged drugs willfully or under duress to transfer them across the borders. They usually carry drugs sealed in layers of plastic wrap. But the story begins when a package is not sealed properly and starts leaking.
The animation tells the story of Rustam, a main character of Persian poet Ferdowsi’s epic masterpiece Shahnameh, who travels into the future and comes to Tehran in 2017.
