Art and Experience: The latest poster for the film “Risk of Acid Rain” designed by Behzad Khorshidi was unveiled. Behzad Khorshidi was nominated or the Crystal Simorgh in Thirty-fourth fajr film festival poster section for the movie “Certified Copy” by Abbas Kiarostami. The movie “Risk of Acid Rain” by Behtash Sanaeeha is entering the fourth month of its screening.

“Risk of Acid Rain” won Best Screenplay Award  in the 33rd Fajr Film Festival and was nominated for the Crystal Simorgh of Best Film in the New Vision section. The film had previously won the awards in Australia Netpek, Colombo Festival Special Jury Prize, Audience Choice Movie Awards Celebration Festival, Prague and talented Iranian cinema critics and writers. “Risk of Acid Rain” recently participated in the Gothenburg Film Festival.

Manouchehr, a 60 year old retiree from the Iranian Tobacco Company, still insists on going to work while he grapples with the loneliness of retirement. When his mother passes away, Manouchehr; who is unmarried with no other family embarks on a journey to try to find his one and only old friend, Khosrow in Tehran. Risk of Acid Rain is a minimal poetic story that addresses the ongoing human perplexities of love, death and sexuality. The film is also anchored by a strong lead performance from famous poet Shams e Lageroodi.

“Risk Of Acid Rain”  is the first movie directed by Behtash Sanaeiha which was screened in last year’s Fajr Festival in Art and Experience section. This movie has been on screen since 9 November in Art & Experience cinema group.
