Art & Experience: The British Independent Film Awards nominations were announced as As “The Lobster” is the pioneer with seven nominations.

The race for Best British Independent Film is between “45 Years” the big winner of Karlovy festival, “Amy” the hit documentary movie of England’s box office,”Ex Machina”, “The Lobster” and “Macbeth”. All the directors of these five movies which includes, Andrew Haigh for “45 Years”, Asif Kapadia for “Amy”, Alex Garland for “Ex Machina”,Yorgos Lanthimos for “The Lobster” and Justin Kurzel for “Macbeth” deserve to be awarded and known as the best.

Best Foreign Independent Film nominees are “Son of Saul” Canne festival winner, “Carol”, “Room” the best movie in Torento film festival, “Force Majeure” and “Girlhood”. From the documentary movies “Amy” ,“Dark Horse: The Incredible True Story of Dream Alliance”, “How to Change the World” ,“Palio” and “A Syrian Love Story” were nominated.

The British Independent Film Awards are as the same level as The Film Independent Spirit Awards in the USA which will be given to those movies who are made by small bodges. As previously announced, Kate Winslet will be presented with the Variety Award, which recognizes a director, actor, writer or producer who has made a global impact and helped to focus the international spotlight on the UK. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at London’s Old Billingsgate on Sunday 6 December.
