Art and Experience: The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art plans to screen veteran filmmaker Khosro Sinai’s 1966 short “Fishing” during his 77th birthday celebration on Thursday.

The film was made based on a story by German author Wolfdietrich Schnurre (1920-1989).

The film tells the story of a boy who plays hooky from school intending to watch fish being caught in a fishnet, but witnesses a murder. The murderer is worried that his crime has been witnessed by the boy, while the boy is worried that the murderer will tell his parents of his school truancies.

A number of cineastes and art elites including Mohammadreza Aslani, Hamid Farrokhnejd and maestro Loris Tjeknavorian are expected to make speeches at the ceremony.

The birthday celebration event will also be an honoring ceremony, a poster for which has been designed by the cartoonist and graphic designer Bozorgmehr Hosseinpur.
