Sigma Announces New ART Lenses and MC-21 L-mount Adapter
Art and Experience:
As part of its L-mount alliance, Sigma unveils new adapter and an impressive lens line.
Since news of Sigma’s partnered alliance with Leica and Panasonic on their collaborative L-mount system for APS-C and full frame cameras, Panasonic has since introduced the world to its new 4K full frame digital cameras – the LUMIX S1 and LUMIX S1R.
Since specs have been leaked in advance of the cameras’ release sometime in April, early hands-on reviews of the more video-focused LUMIX S1 have been largely positive. Leaving many anxious to see what new lenses Sigma would roll out along with an adapter to go between Sigma SA or Canon EF to the L-mount.
Now, it appears we have our answers with these 11 new Sigma ART lenses and the Sigma MC-21 L-mount adapter.
Sigma ART Lenses
Let’s first meet the new ART lens line by Sigma, with 11 native L-mount primes ranging from 14mm fisheye to 135mm telephoto that should provide some beautiful and fast image recording capabilities.

Sigma MC-21 L-mount Adapter
Designed specifically for 29 Sigma interchangeable lenses to be used on the L-mount system camera bodies, the Sigma MC-21 has a built-in LED to show when lenses are (or are not) compatible. (Plus it lights up when firmware is available, which is pretty neat.)
The L-mount adapter also supports correction functions (like distortion, peripheral illumination, and CA of magnification) along with sharing EXIF data for aperture, focal length and lens type.
Here are all the lenses compatible.
Price and release date for the MC-21 L-mount adapter are still set to be announced.
