According to Art and Experience’s public relations, “Rome, Open City” directed by Roberto Rossellini will be on screen of Art and Experience cinemas from 16 December.
Rome, Open City (Italian: Roma città aperta) is a 1945 Italian neorealist drama film directed by Roberto Rossellini. In its English subtitled release it was named Open City. The film won several awards at various film festivals, including the most prestigious Cannes’ Grand Prize, and was also nominated for the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar at the 19th Academy Awards.
Roberto Gastone Zeffiro Rossellini (8 May 1906 – 3 June 1977) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Rossellini was one of the directors of the Italian neorealist cinema, contributing to the movement films such as the 1945 Roma città aperta (Rome, Open City).
