Art and ExperienceIranian director Reza Dormishian has been appointed as a judging jury member at the second edition of Slemani International Film Festival in Iraq.

Dormishian will be judging in the Short Film Section panel of the cinematic event organized in Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The first edition of this festival witnessed a considerable success for Iranian cinema in the short film section where Kamal Parnak won Best Director Award for ‘Hasti’, The Special Jury Award of the Kurdish Cinema section went to ‘Pale Mirrors’ by Salem Salavati, Best Film Award was granted to ‘The White House’ by Arastou Mafakheri and the Diploma of Honor for the Best Short Film went to Iran-Germany-Iraqi Kurdistan joint production ‘Oxygen in Exchange for Blood’.

The festival includes two main sections: The International Cinema Section which presents a series of feature and short films from all over the world and Kurdish Cinema presenting a selection of Kurdish films.

The second edition of Slemani International Film Festival will take place from October 1st to October 7th, 2016.
