Pirated “Everybody Knows” surfaces on Persian websites
Art and Experience: Iranian director Asghar Farhadi’s latest movie “Everybody Knows”, which is currently on screen in several countries, has been pirated.
A high-quality copy of the film with Persian subtitles is available for download on several unofficial Persian websites, Frahadi’s publicist, Samin Mohajerani, announced in a post published on Farhadi’s Telegram channel.
The illicit release of the film will damage the international distribution of the movie, she said, and added that the producers of “Everybody Knows” are disappointed over the downloading and copying of the movie before the end of its international screenings.
She also announced a plan to sue those people involved in the piracy.
Starring the Oscar-winning Spanish couple, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, “Everybody Knows” was shot in Spain in 2017.
A Memento Films production, the psychological drama is about a family wedding interrupted by a shocking crime and some long-buried secrets.
