Pantheon Cinematheque to screen ‘Bridge of Sleep’
Art and Experience: ‘Bridge of Sleep’ is to be screened at the Pantheon Cinematheque on Thursday.
Directed by Oktay Baraheni, the movie that appeared on the silver screen last year is slated to be reviewed in Tehran.
One of the top-list players of the Iranian cinema at the screening period, the film has also gone on screen at a venue in the Canadian cities of Vancouver and Toronto.
The intense social drama is a re-imagination of Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s ‘Crime and Punishment’.
‘Bridge of Sleep’ is about Shahab, who is about to get married. He enters a business deal along with his friend in order to help his financial situation. However, he loses all his money and finds himself in financial hardship.
The film received rave reviews after being featured at the 35th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
