‘Muhammad (PBUH)’ to be screened in Senegal
Art and Experience: Senegal cultural officials announced that they plan to screen Majid Majidi’s ‘Muhammad (PBUH): The Messenger of God’.
Senegal has started negotiations with Majidi to buy and screen the movie as the first African country.
The movie portrays the life of Islam’s Holy Prophet and narrates his early years in Mecca. This is the first part of a trilogy which seems to cover the entire life of the Prophet.
A number of internationally-acclaimed professionals, including Academy Award winning visual effects supervisor and filmmaker, Scott E. Anderson, and three-time Oscar-winning Italian director of photography, Vittorio Storaro, collaborated in the making of the film.
The movie attracted a large number of audiences during its screening in Iranian cinemas and abroad, including in Russia, Turkey, Iraq, Azerbaijan, and so on.
The screenplay of the film, which is the biggest-budget production in Iranian cinema, was co-written by Majidi and Kambozia Partovi.
