Art and Experience‘Life and a Day ‘, the debut feature from 26-year-old Saeed Roustaei, won this year’s prestigious NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema) Award at Iranian Film Festival Australia.

Life and a Day tells the story of a struggling family from South Tehran as they prepare to send their beloved daughter and sister, the glue in the family, to Afghanistan for an arranged marriage.

The film won the Audience award at Fajr Film Festival and nine further awards, including best director, best script, best actress Parinaz Izadyar, and best supporting actor Navid Mohammadzadeh.

The Iranian Film Festival Australia (IFFA) kicked off in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra and Perth on October 20th and will wrap up on November 20th.
