‘Leaf of Life’ to contend in Bangladesh
Art and Experience: ‘Leaf of Life’ directed by Ebrahim Mokhtari is set to contend at the 17th annual Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.
The 85-minute film is the story of a documentary filmmaker shooting a film about the risks involved in growing saffron in Northwestern Iran, while desperately trying to purchase a house in Tehran.
The film depicts the filmmaker’s struggle in reaching his goals, only to find out it wasn’t what he wanted, having to change the course of his life in order to reach his true desire.
The film’s cast includes award-winning actor and ‘The Honeymoon’ star Saeid Poursamimi along with Mehdi Ahmadi, Maryam Moghadam, and Sahar Salahshour.
The 17th annual Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) themed “Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society” according to its website, will feature about 170 films with filmmakers coming from 60 countries around the world.
Various competitions will be held at DIFF highlighting a wide range of interests from Asian to international cinema, children’s films, women filmmakers, short and independent films, and spiritual films.
DIFF’s 17th annual event is set to be held from January 10-18, 2019.
