Iran’s “Fury and Furor” to compete for Golden Goblet Award in Shanghai
Art and Experience: Iran’s “Fury and Furor” by Hooman Seyyedi will be competing for the Golden Goblet Award at the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival running from June 11 to 14, 2016, organizers have announced.
The film will be competing with 13 other films for the award. They include “Cock and Bull” by Cao Baoping (China), “De Lan” by Liu Jie (China), “Flowers of Evil” by Antti Jokinen (Finland), “Forest, 4 AM” by Jan Jakub Kolski (Poland) and “Hanna’s Sleeping Dogs” by Andreas Gruber (Germany/Austria).
In the film, Khosrow, a pop singer, lives a hectic life with his wife Tina and their son Moez. His life is further complicated when he begins a relationship with a female fan. A terrible event ensues obliging the lovers to each recount their side of the story in pursuit of the truth.
Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica is the president of the jury for the Golden Goblet Award’s main competition section.
