Iranian movies win top awards at U.S. festival
Art and Experience: Three Iranian movies won top awards at the 14th Garden State Film Festival, which was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey from March 31 to April 3.
“Blue-Eyed Boy” directed by Amir-Masud Soheili won the award for best narrative short film. It is about a young boy suffering from an unusual type of color blindness that causes him to see the world in blue.
“Lima” by Afshin Roshanbakht and Vahid Jafari received the award for best short animated film section.
“Oblivion Season” by director Abbas Rafei and “Ashes” by Alan Coulson from the UK shared the award for best narrative feature.
Starring Sareh Bayat and Pejman Bazeghi, the movie is about an ex-prostitute who starts a new life by marrying her lover but leaving the shadow of her dark past turns out not to be as easy as it had seemed beforehand.
