Art and ExperienceThe 5th edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) in India has scheduled to screen Iranian comedy ‘Katyusha’.

Directed by Ali Atshani in 2017, the comedy juxtaposes a rich spoiled young man with a soldier from the poor districts.

Khalil, the soldier, is a pious man known as Khalil Katyusha. He has to spend some days with Arshia, a corny loaded guy. The gap that exists between their social levels and worldviews creates some problems.

“If I want to be successful in my life, I do not have to look at life like you do,” a tagline for the flick reads.

Hadi Hejazifar, Ahmad Mehranfar, Mitra Hajjar, Linda Kiani, Mehran Rajabi, Khashayar Rad, Bijan Banafshe-Khah, Arjang Amir-Fazli, Leila Otadi and Qasem Zare are the most notable among the movie actors.

The movie was among the bestselling titles in the Iranian box office during its public screening.

‘Katyusha’ had its first international screening at the Movie Day of the Crossover Film Festival in Nova Lakeside Theater in 2018.

The RIFF is making endeavors towards imparting a novel identity to the world cinema, through conducting film festivals in the city of Jaipur every year.

It attempts to connect the world cinema with the common public and making it a social concern, through conducting various seminars, debates and discussions.

The RIFF is the biggest Academic and Glamour Film Festival in Rajasthan. The 5-day event showcases a diverse, language independent, selection of the best feature films, documentaries and short films from around the world.

The festival also features concerts, gala events, film parties, seminars, workshops and networking opportunities with government representatives, business leaders, local organizations that support film development, film stars, producers, directors, members of the media and more.

The 5th edition of the RIFF is slated for January 19-23, 2019.
