Art and ExperienceTo commemorate the 60th anniversary of Iran’s and India’s cultural relations, the Iranian Films Festival was inaugurated in the Indian capital New Delhi Sat. night.

The festival is organized by Iranian cultural attaché in New Delhi and in cooperation with India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, as well as the management department of Indian film festival. Iran’s Ambassador to New Delhi Gholamreza Ansari and Indian Minister of Information and Broadcasting were present during the opening ceremony, and stressed further expansion of cultural ties between the two countries.

The festival will run for three days during which 14 Iranian films produced in recent years will be screened for interested audience.

The Iranian Films Festival is being held in New Delhi to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the signing of a cultural agreement between Iran and India and the establishment of Iran’s Cultural House in the Indian capital.

On the sidelines of the festival, an exhibition will showcase Iranian handicrafts including inlay, vitreous enamels, metal, wood and textile artworks as well as an art gallery of Iranian calligraphy.

Iran will attend this year’s handicrafts exhibition in India as a guest of honor.
