Art and Experience: Iran feature ‘Iran K9’ has been selected to compete in the Asian Project Market of the 22nd Busan internatinal film festival (BIFF), 2017.

The movie is among the 28 works selected for competition by BIFF, from among works submitted from 17 countries for this year’s gala.

Directed by Vahid Vakilifar and produced by Maryam Najafi, ‘Iran K9’ will compete with films from China, South Korea, Japan, India, France, Thailand, Kirgizstan, Indonesia, Germany, Georgia, The Philippines, etc.; the works have been selected from among 317 submitted movies.

The movie’s synopsis has not yet been disclosed.

This year’s Asian Project Market will be held October 14-17, 2017 amid the 22nd edition of Busan internatinal film festival, slated for October 12-21.

Vakilifar is also the director of two other features, ‘Taboor’ and ‘Gesher’. The former was awarded the ‘First Jury’s Special Mention’ at the 53rd Thessaloniki IFF, Greece,the ‘Jury Prize’ at the 12th Marrakesh International Film Festival, Morocco, the ‘Critics’ Prize’ at the 15th Deauville Asian Film Festival, France, and the ‘Night Award’ at the 11th International Festival Signes de Nuit, Paris, France.

Also, his feature ‘Gesher’ has grabbed the ‘Hubert Bals Fund’ award from IFFR – International Film Festival Rotterdam (2011), the ‘Jury Special Award’ from the St. Petersburg International Kinoforum, Russia (2011) and the ‘Best Movie’ award from the ‘Middle East International Film Festival, Abu Dhabi, UAE’ (2010).
