Greek festival to screen shorts by Iranian filmmakers
Art and Experience: Iranian short films “A Moment”, “Hasti” and “The Snail” will go on screen in the main competition at the 3rd Taratsa International Film Festival, which will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece from August 24 to 28.
“A Moment” directed by Naqi Nemati unfolds a series of unexpected events occurring a few minutes before the deaths of some people.
“Hasti” by Kamal Parnak is about a little girl whose mother’s death becomes the starting point of an inner journey, which leads her to perceive the concept of death.
And finally, “The Snail” by Mohammad Torivian tells the story of three young individuals who attempt to leave Iran illegally with the help of a human trafficker.
A total of 70 short films from Finland, Brazil, France, Mexico, Russia, Portugal, the UK and several other countries will vie for awards at festival, which is also slated to screen a lineup of movies from classical cinema.
