Four short films from Iranian cinema at the Vancouver International Independent Film Festival
Art and Experience: Four short films from Iran, along with 22 short fiction films by international filmmakers, entered the competition section of the Vancouver Independent Film Festival competition. “Cloak” by Naghmeh Maghsoudloo, “Libido” by Saeed Dashti, “Zugzwang” by Alireza Mohammadi and “The Last Minute” by Farshid Ayubinejad on November 6-7 with short films by filmmakers from the United States, Canada, South and Central America And Europe will compete. This year’s event will be hosted by Canadian actress and model Lauren Johnston.
Also, in order to celebrate the activities of talented and promising filmmakers of Iranian cinema, this year’s festival, in its sixth season, will host the documentary “Camera Test” made by the acclaimed Sahra Asadollahi, the movie “Shin” starring Shahab Hosseini and made by Meysam Kazazi. The episodic film “Golden Time” made by Pouria Kakavand and produced by Hassan Fathi will be in the non-competitive section.
The Independent Institute of Culture and Arts, Minerva Film and Diar Company, deserve a lot of appreciation for providing the possibility of reviewing and selecting Iranian short films for screening in this festival.
