Art and Experience Eight years after the production of Asghar Farhadi’s ‘About Elly’, the film will go on screen in Turkey.

According to Turkish news outlet Daily Sabah, 6 new feature films, including ‘About Elly’, will be displayed on the sliver screens of Turkish cinema.

Farhadi who has both directed and written the film, won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival. ‘About Elly’ was also nominated to win 10 awards at 27th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran where Farhadi won Crystal Simorgh for best directing. The film was Iran’s official submission for the competition in the Foreign Language Film category at the 82nd Academy Awards.

Premiered in US in 2015, ‘About Elly’ made it to the top ten in Associated Press’ list by film critic Jack Coyle.

‘About Elly’ unfolds the story of middle class Iranians whose trip to the north of Iran, where they got caught in a tragedy as they try to uphold their social customs.
