Fajr festival is first on Cinema Organization of Iran agenda: official
Art and Experience: The new director of the Cinema Organization of Iran (COI) Mohammad-Mehdi Heidarian says that the priority of the organization is the 35th Fajr International Film Festival.
“All departments and institutes must help the organizers hold this festival the best way possible,” Hiedarian said at the meeting with the COI officials and managers on Tuesday.
He thanked the former director Hojjatollah Ayyubi and said, “Ayyubi received the organization when cinema faced many problems and he was able to confront the problems with his wisdom.
“However, in order to achieve goals and priorities announced by the (culture) minister, cinema needs a great change and we need to have programs for this change,” he added.
He continued, “We should not be afraid of changes. It is natural that any changes might seem to have opponents, but we can remove the obstacles with better management.”
“The country needs cultural justice and all the art and cultural facilities must be available for every individual across the country,” he remarked.
Heidarian also emphasized on training more talented people for cinema and said, “There is a wide range of art and cultural potentials across the country, of which we can make the most use. The young cinema in other cities and provinces needs to be strengthened.”
The 35th Fajr International Film Festival is scheduled to be held in Tehran from April 21 to 28.
