“Daughter” director Reza Mirkarimi to make “Qasre Shirin”
Art and Experience: Reza Mirkarimi, the director of acclaimed movies such as “The Daughter”, “A Cube of Sugar” and “So Close, So Far”, plans to shoot his new film “Qasre Shirin” during this autumn.
Mohammad Davudi and Mohsen Qarai have written the screenplay based on a plot from Mirkarimi, a public relations team announced on Sunday.
No further details were published about the story of the movie, which is scheduled to be filmed on location in the southwestern Iranian city of Yasuj.
Mirkarimi is currently in the city to hire some local actors for his cast.
He has recently held talks with Hadi Hejazifar, the star of “Standing in the Dust”, to select him for the cast.
Mirkarimi’s drama “The Daughter” scooped awards for best film and best actor, won by Farhad Aslani, at the 38th Moscow International Film Festival in 2016.
