Art and ExperienceCouncil of Europe’s cinema fund, Eurimages, is set to support new cinematic project by high profile Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi.

According to a Wednesday media report, the Eurimages board at its 147th meeting held June 19-23 has selected Farhadi’s project along with 26 films (including a documentary and an animation) to be awarded a combined €7,104,430 (USD 8,047,735) fund.

Eurimages is the Council of Europe fund for the co-production, distribution, exhibition and digitization of European cinematographic works.

“Asghar Farhadi’s untitled Spanish film is one of the high-profile projects on the list,” the report also noted.

The project features international actors such as Ricardo Darin, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem and is due to shoot in Madrid.

In 2017, Farhadi won best foreign language Oscar for ‘The Salesman.’
