Bulgarian festival picks “Apricot Groves”
Art and Experience: “Apricot Groves”, an Iranian-Armenian film production by Iranian director Purya Heidari Oureh has been selected in the official selection competition section of the 8th Sofia MENAR Film Festival, running in the Bulgarian capital from January 12 to 29, 2017.
The film tells the story of Aram, an Iranian-Armenian youth who immigrated to the U.S. in his childhood and returns to Armenia for the first time to marry an Armenian friend he met and lived with in the US. However, he sees many cultural, religious and national differences on his trip, but more difficult obstacles lie ahead.
The Sofia Menar Film Festival spotlights top cinema productions from the Middle East and North Africa.
