“Bodyguard” hits silver screens in Syria
Art and Experience: Iranian director Ebrahim Hatamikia’s acclaimed political drama “Bodyguard” went on screen at the Damascus Opera House and Kindi Cinema on Tuesday.
In the opening ceremony at the Damascus Opera House, the film was screened for a number of Syrian ministers and Iranian cultural officials.
Starring Parviz Parastui, who won the best actor Crystal Simorgh for the film at the 34th Fajr Film Festival, ”Bodyguard” will be on screen for ten days.
The film is the story of a middle-aged bodyguard who protects a politician from a suicide bomber, and then begins to question his dedication to his job.
The film has previously gone on screen in Canada, Australia, England and Lebanon.
