Art and Experience: “Atlan”, a production of Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), has won the best feature-length documentary award at the 4th FrontDoc International Film Festival, the center announced on Wednesday.
Directed by Moin Karimeddini, “Atlan” tells the story of Ali, an Iranian Turkmen horse-riding instructor, and his horse Ilhad.

In 2014, the film won the award for best film at Cinéma Vérité, an international festival for documentaries in Iran.

In the Turkmen language, Atlan means “get on your horse and get going.”

The FronDoc festival was held in Aosta, Italy from November 11 to 13.
