Art and Experience: The 30th AFI Fest, which is organized by the American Film Institute every year, will screen Asghar Farhadi’s “The Salesman” and Mani Haqiqi’s “A Dragon Arrives” in its World Cinema lineup.
“The Salesman” is Iran’s submission to the 89th Academy Awards in the best foreign-language film category.
Thirty-one films from 27 countries will also compete in the section. The lineup also includes six films that are representing countries at the 2017 Oscars.
The six films are “Death in Sarajevo” by Danis Tanovic, “The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki” by Juho Kuosmanen, “It’s Only the End of the World” by Xavier Dolan, “Julieta” by Pedro Almodovar, “Land of Mine” by Martin Pieter Zandvliet and “Neruda” by Pablo Larrain.
The AFI Fest, which is a celebration of global cinema and today’s Hollywood, will be held in Los Angeles from November 10 to 17.
