7 Iran films to be screened at Trenton Film Festival in US
Art and Experience:7 Iranian films have been set to be screened at the 5th edition of Trenton Film Festival (TFS) in the U.S.
The 2018 edition of Torenton Film Festival screens 53 films from 16 countries.
The event will showcase films in seven categories including Narrative feature, narrative short, documentary feature, documentary short, animation, experimental and music video.
In the documentary section Iran participates with ‘Weavers of Imagination’ by Sadeq Jafari. The doc is about blind men and women in Iran weaving intricately pattern carpets by using Braille.
In the animation section Iran showcases ‘Light Sight’ by Seyyed Moslem Tabatabaei and ’Blows with the wind’ by Hazhir As’adi.
‘Kupal’ directed by KAzem Molaei will be screened in the narrative feature section while ‘Lunch Time’ by Alireza Ghasemi, ‘The Guy Came on Horseback’ by Hossein Rabiei Dastjerdi and ‘Pale Mirror’ by Salem Salavati are in the narrative short section.
Kupal is the story of a taxidermist who faces a strange challenge in his life one week before the beginning of Nowrouz, the new Iranian year.
In Lunch Time, a 16-year-old girl is forced to take the harsh responsibility of identifying her mother’s body.
‘The Guy Came on Horseback’ is set in rural Iran. A father must figure out what to do with his disabled son who has fallen in love with a neighbor’s daughter.
In ‘Pale Mirrors’, a woman tries to seize her last opportunity to be a mother.
Trenton Film Society is a non-profit organization which brings filmmakers and film professionals together to build a better understanding of filmmaking and to explore the issues and perspectives in a variety of films –from local to international- as well as to build an appreciation of the film arts.
The 5th edition of Trenton International Film Festival is slated for March 22-25, 2018.
